Parents can help ensure the success of their students by getting involved in the Friends of Music, the booster club for the LQHS Music Department.
There are many ways parents can help. Primarily, parents should attend concerts! Attending concerts lets your student know that you value what they do. It shows you care enough to rearrange your hectic schedule to support them. Music students work many hours to prepare for performances. They want to be acknowledged with the applause of a grateful, supportive audience. ATTEND CONCERTS! Bring the entire family and invite friends and coworkers. It’s fun and you will be pleasantly surprised at the high quality of our fine student musicians.
Parents can support and encourage their students to do their best. Practicing at home is an important step in the quest for musical excellence. Please insist that your student practices…it is homework! When possible, private lessons are the most effective way to guarantee your student excels.
If you wish to be more involved, the music parent booster club, Friends of Music, always welcomes more help. This wonderful group of parents help with uniforms, instruments, and the snack bar at football games. They organize fund raisers and support our groups any way they can. Friends of Music parents take an active role in the success of their students. They also have lots of fun!
